What is concierge medicine?

Members pay an annual fee to their physician’s practice and, in return, the physician agrees to limit the number of patients he treats, while offering more personalized services than a traditional practice. 

Is this membership tax-deductible?

Possibly, but It is best to check with your accountant.

Can a Health Savings Account be used to pay
for the membership fee?

Most likely, but you should check with your individual HSA guidelines.

What happens to my fee if I move out of the area?

The fee will be returned to you on a pro-rated basis.

What about my medical insurance?

Although Private Health MD does not have any contractual agreements (not “in network”) with any health care plans, we will always file your claims as a courtesy to our members. 

Where do I go for lab work?

Private Health MD will draw blood at the office and then transport it to the hospital or lab.

Who will see me for urgent care or admit me to the hospital when the doctor is out of town?

Often, Dr. Castro will continue to be available via e-mail or cell phone, even if he is out of town. Arrangements will be made with a private physician or hospital group to cover issues that require visits or hospitalizations. These providers will bill your insurance directly and you will be responsible for deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance.

Where will I get X-rays, CTs and MRIs?

At any facility that works with your insurance provider. Winter Park Memorial Hospital and University Diagnostic Institute (UDI) are both convenient to our office.
